چکیده
Abstract Introduction Interscalene block (ISB) is commonly used for efficient pain relief after arthroscopic shoulder surgery. But, it linked with a greater occurrence of unilateral diaphragmatic paralysis (UDP). This may add to patient dissatisfaction and also not be tolerated well by patients having respiratory diseases. We have compared the efficacy costoclavicular (CCB) ISB postoperative analgesia in undergoing Materials Methods Fifty were divided into two groups 25 each (ISB or CCB group). In total, 20 mL 0.5% levobupivacaine along 4 mg dexamethasone as adjuvant was during both ultrasound-guided CCB. Numerical rating scale (NRS) scores assessed at 0, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 6, 12, 24 hours period. The mean onset time block, first painkiller demand, total demand postoperatively, wellbeing, incidence UDP, any other complications recorded. Results NRS comparable. (p > 0.05) Mean earlier group contrary < 0.05). There higher UDP no notable variation regarding hours. Patients more satisfied group. Conclusion As provided equivalent period like without risk can better substitute

Assessment of pain relief provided by interscalene regional block and infusion pump after arthroscopic shoulder surgery.
PURPOSE This study was performed to evaluate the efficacy of interscalene regional blocks and infusion pumps for postoperative pain control after arthroscopic subacromial decompression with or without arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. METHODS Seventy-six patients were included in the prospective study. Participants were randomized into 4 treatment groups: (1) interscalene regional block, (2) ...
متن کاملA Comparison of Subacromial Bursae Block, Suprascapular Nerve Block and Interscalene Brachial Plexus Block after Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgery
Background: The aim of this study was to compare the analgesic efficacy of subacromial bursae block (LA), suprascapular nerve block (SSB), and interscalene brachial plexus block (ISB) after arthroscopic shoulder surgery. Methods: 91 patients scheduled to undergo an arthroscopic shoulder acromioplasty under GA in an outpatient setting were included. The patients were prospectively randomized int...

Interscalene block for shoulder surgery.
Fracture dislocation of the shoulder is a common musculoskeletal injury following road traffic accident. Peripheral nerve block has become a recognized anesthetic technique due to the rapid onset of prolonged analgesia, sufficient for both pain and surgical management. However, interscalene block for shoulder surgery has not been reported as a primary anesthetic technique in our environment. We...

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES To evaluate the efficacy of interscalene brachial plexus block as the primary anesthetic for shoulder surgery, the influence on blood loss, and the rate of complication. METHODS Retrospective review of 676 reconstructive surgical procedures of the shoulder for anesthetic technique (regional or general), regional anesthetic technique (paresthesia versus nerve stimulat...
